CARMEN P. BELEFONTE
A highly
respected lawyer both in Pennsylvania
and nationally, Carmen P. Belefonte
has been an active trial lawyer since
1966, when he served as an Army Captain
in the JAG Corps. A native of Upper
Darby, he graduated the University
of Notre Dame and the Dickinson School
of Law at Pennsylvania State University
where, as result of his high academic
ranking, he served as Articles Editor
of the Law Review and member of the
Woolsack Honor Society.
Mr. Belefonte
currently serves as a National Governor
of the Association of Trial Lawyers
of America and was formerly a member
of its Executive Committee. In addition,
he has served as a member of the House
of Delegates of the Pennsylvania Bar
Association, is a member of the Million
Dollar Advocates Forum, and was recently
admitted to membership as a Senior
Counsel in the American College of
Barristers. He is a past president
of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers
Association and the Delaware County
Bar Association.
Mr. Belefonte is a frequent lecturer
at legal seminars both in Pennsylvania
and other parts of the country.
He has been
recognized for his leadership and
service to the legal community; he
is the recipient of the Milton Rosenberg
Award from the Pennsylvania Trial
Lawyers Association and the E. Wallace
Chadwick Award from the Delaware County
Bar Association.
Mr. Belefonte
resides with his wife, Elke, and is
the father of three children. He is
an avid skier, art collector, and
photographer and frequently attends
Notre Dame football games.
